Easter Sunday
March 27, 2005
When Simon Peter arrived after him, he went into the tomb and saw the burial cloths there, and the cloth that had covered His head, not with the burial cloths
but rolled up in a separate place. Then the other
disciple also went in, the one who had arrived at the tomb first, and he saw and believed.

EASTER
We have entered into the great season of hope and joy. Think of how many times we have heard the words of consolation at the cemetery closely associated with those who have fallen asleep in the sure hope of the Resurrection. The sting and the seeming power of death is destroyed by the victory of Jesus. His Risen Presence on earth with the early Church not only gave encouragement but revealed the true meaning of life for all peoples. We are asked in this special season to reflect anew on our belief in the resurrection of the dead and the promise of eternal life. Our Lord has offered to all the hope and promise of eternal life. This life is to be in the fullness of God’s love. Thus, Eastertide calls us to reflection and prayer, and if need be, to make the additional changes in our journey of life. It is in this season that we will as a parish have a Mission to strengthen not only our baptismal relationship but also to solidify the foundation of our faith response.

Very early in the morning after the Sabbath, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb to anoint Jesus’ body with precious oils. The reward of this good and conscientious steward was to be the first to know that Jesus had been raised from the dead! ALLELUIA!

St. Mary’s Redemptorist Parish Mission will be celebrated from
Sunday, April 10th thru Thursday, April 14th and led by Father William Maggs, CSsR. There will be an 8:30 a.m. Mass in the Chapel each day and an 8:00 p.m. service in the Main Church. Saint Mary’s Parish is being drawn into a deeper sense of the Easter message with the help of a Mission. Many will recall the Mission lead by Father Freund in the fall of 2003. We were all reminded of the unholy Trinity of Me, Myself and I. The Redemptorist Congregation keeping to the spirit of Saint Alphonsus Ligouri has passed on a deepening of the Faith rooted in a Eucharistic character and an affectionate love and devotion to our Holy Mother. I encourage our families to take advantage of this extraordinary time of Grace and schedule your week around the Mission. More details will be available over the next weeks.
Mark Your Calendars Now: Vacation Bible School will be held from

There are over 721 crosses which represent the number of babies killed every working hour of every working day! The memorial will be there for several weeks. Stop by, pull in the driveway, park and say a prayer for the unborn. Deacon Bob Gignilliat explains that the thirteen crosses up front stand for the twelve apostles and Mary.
