There will be a second collection next Sunday for the Catholic Home Missions Appeal. This collection helps Catholics in rural America –Appalachia, the Deep South, the Southwest, and the Rocky Mountain states where the Catholic Church struggles. These poor dioceses need financial assistance to support parishes, evangelization, religious education, campus ministry, seminary training, ethnic ministries, and youth and lay ministry programs. We need to protect and preserve our Catholic community here in the United States by responding generously to this Appeal. Thank you for your support!

We continue to reflect on the many essential points of our personal and communal journey to God. We have had to consider the moment of personal death, the death of others in our circle of life, our belief in eternal life and the like. In the midst of all this, our late Holy Father John Paul the Great left us a profound legacy. He invited us to follow the Lord Jesus and showed us the way – deep personal prayer. Our parish Mission has further assisted us to enter into the real meaning of life and how to value the things that really matter. Let us ask our Good God to strengthen us to greater fidelity and response to His Mercy.

EASTER FLOWERS: In Memory/Honor of Martha Kovacs and Anastacio Garcia.

Jesus says, “I came that they may have life, and have it to the full.” Good stewards are grateful for the gift of life and joyfully share their abundance with others.

A PRAYER FOR UNDERSTANDING

Help me understand the needs of those
who struggle every day to stand tall against
the world’s pain.

Help me find a way to give hope to those
who have turned to alcohol or drugs
for survival.

Help me to teach the children the lessons
of life that will shape their future,
body, mind and soul.

Help me feed the poor and elderly, too
proud to say that they have not eaten today.

Help me look inside myself and see
that all mankind is one. And, grant me
the strength to understand that I can make a
difference.
