The Innocence of our Second Graders
This Sunday at the 2:00 p.m. Mass, our second graders will begin to partake regularly at the Altar of the Lord. For those who will assemble with them for First Holy Communion, a time of special remembrance will be rekindled. The day we first receive our precious Lord in the Eucharist is never forgotten. We can only look at our little ones and offer prayers for them so they will be spared the pitfalls of sin and the lure of a world that promotes self rather than selflessness. We can unite once again as a parish community and ask God for the grace needed to be a source of good example for our little ones. May our Holy Mother watch over them and us.
Those who obey the commandments, Jesus says in today’s Gospel, are the ones who really love Him. Does my stewardship reveal my love for Jesus?
