Father’s Day

Father’s Day

As usual I will telephone my dad. He is getting ready to celebrate another birthday in July (he won’t remember which one it is) and is eagerly looking forward to my visiting him later on this year. Our plans are to visit his remaining siblings (in the northern part of the province of Ontario) and to avoid the many snacks along the way that I enjoy! It will give me another wonderful opportunity to reminisce and share with my dad. In many ways, each time I make this trip with my dad, I am mindful that it might be the last time. Yet, I have been lucky. Making time to call him and, whenever possible, to be with him is important to me. I am grateful for the special times I have been able to have with my dad since being a priest. The one blessing is that I carry him every day with me in prayer. I can only speak for myself–that making use of the opportunities to be with him is important to me as a person and as his son. I hope you will have a wonderful Father’s Day!

The Banns of Marriage are announced for the second time for John William Broglie of St. John the Evangelist and Christina Ann Troffer of St. Joseph’s. The Banns of Marriage are also announced for the second time for Eugene Vincent Pohren of St. Mary’s and Jennifer Christine Escano of St. Mary’s Church.
