The recent events in London made me not only pray for those who have died, were injured and their families, but also made me recall the prophets of old. In the past, when Israel was surrounded by warring nations, a cry of terror was heard. Yet, time and time again the prophets called the people back to their God. We are called to be rooted in God. Though we might be tested in ways that are unfamiliar to us, yet it is our hope that we remain strong in the Lord, as good will ultimately triumph over evil! The Eucharist affords each of us the intimacy of deep communion with Jesus. He in love reminds us not to give in to fear!

The Banns of Marriage are announced for the second time for Morgan Boteler, Jr. and Leslie Ann Eckard of St. Mary's Church.

Prayer for John Paul II’s Intercession

This prayer is being disseminated by the postulator of the cause of John Paul’s beatification. In the last phase of the process of beatification, proof will be required of a miracle attributed to this intercession. The process of beatification begins on June 28th.

O Blessed Trinity,
We thank you for having graced the Church with Pope John Paul II and for allowing the tenderness of your Fatherly care, the glory of the cross of Christ, and the splendor of the Holy Spirit, to shine through him. Trusting fully in Your infinite mercy and in the maternal intercession of Mary, he has given us a living image of Jesus the Good Shepherd, and has shown us that holiness is the necessary measure of ordinary Christian life and is the way of achieving eternal communion with you. Grant us, by his intercession, and according to Your will, the graces we implore, hoping that he will soon be numbered among your saints. Amen.
