April 15
The rediscovery of [the Lord's Day] is a
grace which we must implore, not only so that we may live
the demands of faith to the full, but also that we may
respond concretely to the deepest human yearnings. Time
given to Christ is never time lost, but is rather time
gained, so that our relationships and indeed our whole life
may become more profoundly human.
God
is Love
Belief in the
Eucharist is a treasure we must seek by submissiveness, preserve by piety, and
defend at any cost. Not to believe in the Blessed Sacrament is the greatest of misfortunes.
(St Peter Emyard)
Prayer
For Our Nation
God Our
Father, Giver of life, we entrust the
United States of America to Your loving care. You are the
rock on which this nation was founded. You alone are the true source of our cherished rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Reclaim this land for Your glory and dwell among Your people.
Send Your Spirit to touch the hearts of our nation's leaders. Open their minds to the great worth of human life and the responsibilities that accompany human freedom. Remind Your people that true happiness is rooted in seeking and doing Your will.
Through
the intercession of
Mary Immaculate, Patroness of our land, grant
us the courage to reject the "culture of
death." Lead us into a new millennium of life. We
ask this through
Christ Our Lord.
Amen.

Our
beloved Holy Father Pope John Paul II once said,
"Parents are the first and the most important educators of their own
children, and they also possess a fundamental competence in this area;
they are educators because they are parents."
