Personal Profile:

Miss Reavis is a product of the Catholic system in the Maryland/DC area. She has a B.S. in elementary education (with a concentration in math) from the University of Maryland, College Park and a master of science in administration from Trinity DC University. This is her ninth year teaching at St. Mary's and her second year as assistant principal. In her free time Miss Reavis enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and knitting.

Mrs. Weslowski attended St. Mary’s as a student and has a B.A. in psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park and a master’s degree in elementary education from Trinity College in Washington DC. She also serves as the second grade teacher, director of admissions, and department head for the primary grades. This is her 18th year at St. Mary’s. She and her husband Brian are parishioners of St. Mary’s Church and were married in Our Lady’s Chapel 17 years ago. They have a 16 year old son who attends Bishop McNamara and a 13 year old daughter who is in 8th grade at St. Mary’s.

Mrs. True attended St. Mary's School of Piscataway. She received her bachelor's degree from Towson University and continued her education at the University of Maryland, Catholic University of America and Trinity University in Washington, D.C. She holds an advanced professional certificate in the state of Maryland and is certified in early childhood education and elementary education. This is her 20th year with St. Mary's. Mrs. True and her husband, Joe, were married in Our Lady's Chapel and are active parishioners of St. Mary’s Church. They have three children (also graduates of St. Mary's) and one granddaughter.

Growing up, Mrs. Johnson attended elementary school at her family parish, St. Ignatius in Oxon Hill, Maryland. Keema and her husband Tom both attended, and met at, high schools within the Archdiocesan system of Washington. They desired the same educational journey for their own children, so their five children attend St. Mary’s School of Piscataway. Mrs. Johnson holds a B.A. in art education from Bowie State University and a master of education from East Carolina University. Her teaching career began in 2001. She has taught pre-kindergarten through 12th grades in Maryland and North Carolina. She is dually state certified in visual art and early childhood education and holds an advanced professional certificate with special education and reading endorsements. She is currently pursuing her administrator I certification at Trinity University. In her spare time she loves painting, sports, power tools, traveling, and a good belly laugh.

Ms. Maria Mercer graduated from Trinity Washington University with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a master’s degree in educational administration. She has three grandchildren: Gabrielle, Charles Jr., and Nichelle. In her spare time, she enjoys photography, sewing, crocheting, decorating, painting, reading, and coloring.

Mrs. Hare attended St. Mary’s School of Piscataway as a student from grades kindergarten through 8. Mrs. Hare and her family are also parishioners of St. Mary’s. She has an undergraduate degree from Marymount University in English with a concentration in Shakespearean studies. She is graduating with a master’s degree in teaching from Liberty University in May. Mrs. Hare has been with the Archdiocese of Washington since 2010. In her free time, Mrs. Hare enjoys spending time with her husband Tim, daughter Mackenzie, and dog, Maddi. She enjoys sightseeing in the city.

Mrs. Hoffmaster is a member of St. Joseph's Church in Pomfret and is involved with religious education and the church choir. She has been involved in education since 2007, and has taught 4th grade at Diggs Elementary for the past three years. Mrs. Hoffmaster is very excited to incorporate her faith into her teaching and immerse herself in the St. Mary's Piscataway family.

Mrs. Garner began teaching in 2005 and has experience in various subject areas from multi-grade levels (toddler, preschool, elementary school, ESOL for high school, and adults). She started her career in my home country of the Philippines and also taught in Okinawa, Japan. She has taught in culturally-diverse settings; both in a private and public schools. Mrs. Garner earned a master of arts degree in early childhood education from Ashford University. Mrs. Garner served as reading English and language arts (RELA) and social studies at PGCPS for four years before she joined the St. Mary’s faculty in 2019. She comes from a retired USAF family and was blessed with two sons. They love spending time at beaches and traveling to different places.

An educator for over 20 years, Mr. Sweda holds a bachelor of arts degree from Denison University with a background in history. He also earned a master of arts in elementary education from Kent State University. Mr. Sweda also teaches grades 2 and 4-8 social studies. Ms. Ebuwei earned her bachelor’s degree at Penn State where she also played varsity volleyball. She got her master’s degree s at Penn State and Catholic University. Currently, she attends Hofstra University when she's not at St. Mary’s to finish her PhD. She also teaches science to 6th-8th graders and oversees the discipline side of the administration. She has a daughter in the 8th grade and two furry friends at home, Kori and BW. She enjoys cooking, baking, reading, and listening to music.

Ms. Suuberg graduated magna cum laude from the Catholic University of America where she played flute and piccolo with the CUA wind ensemble and the CUA orchestra. She continues to play in the Washington, D.C. area, especially for musicals and shows. Though Kate primarily plays the flute, she enjoys teaching all the instruments. She has been teaching with the Archdiocesan music program since 2013.

Mr. Ben Hardwick graduated from the University of Maryland BC in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in music and emphasis in jazz saxophone performance. Mr. Hardwick teaches voice, piano, clarinet, saxophone, percussion, and guitar to students of all ages. He is an instructor at music and arts in Greenbelt, Maryland. Mr. Hardwick is devoted to arts education and is thrilled to be the music teacher and choir director at St. Mary’s School of Piscataway.

Mr. Garcia graduated from The Art Institute of Washington in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts for game art and design. Mr. Garcia started teaching art at St. Mary’s School of Piscataway in the 2019 academic year. During the summer he teaches 3D animation and 3D modeling. Mr. Garcia is an illustrator, digital painter, 3D modeler, texture artist, and animator. He draws for fun and likes to watch art related videos.

Mrs. Tina Gormley is an honors graduate of University of Maryland, College Park with a degree in special education. Her love of Catholic education prompted her to pursue employment within the Archdiocese of Washington schools. She is happy and proud to be teaching at St. Mary’s as a resource teacher for nine years. Besides spending time with her husband and three children, her favorite pastimes are horseback riding, reading, and enjoying her dogs and horses.

As a seminarian for the Archdiocese of Washington, Father Baer entered Mount Saint Mary’s Seminary in 1991. He was ordained a deacon at St. Patrick’s Church in Washington, DC, in 1995, and a priest to the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception on June 15, 1996. James Cardinal Hickey, Archbishop of Washington, conferred these ordinations. Father Baer has been St. Mary’s Pastor for six years. He is an avid history buff, a runner, and an authentic Washington Redskins fan.

Mrs. Ingelido comes to us from another Archdiocese of Washington school where she is the librarian and study hall coordinator. She earned her bachelor’s degree in humanities with a minor in sociology from University of Maryland University College and her master’s degree in library information science from Rutgers University. She is affiliated with several professional organizations including the American Library Association (ALA), Independent Catholic Library Association (ICLA), and the Library & Information Technology Association (LITA). Mrs. Ingelido loves books and implemented a brand-new library system. She is responsible for choosing new books for our students and also teaches library classes to all grades from pre-kindergarten to 8th grade.

Mr. Bekas originally came from Poland where he graduated from The Academy of Physical Education in Warsaw with a master’s degree in physical education. Mr. Bekas specializes in fitness and martial arts. He has over fifteen years of experience in teaching and has taught students from pre-kindergarten to college level. Mr. Bekas was formerly at St. Catherine Laboure School and also teaches at Holy Redeemer School, where besides teaching physical education, he created and ran a very popular after school karate program and a fun summer camp. Mr. Bekas’ goals are to produce an energizing and creative learning environment that will bring out the best in our students. His hobbies are sports, mainly martial arts and combat sports. He holds black belts in karate, Tae Kwon Do, and kickboxing.

Mr. Brett served 34 years as an accountant, computer programmer, computer systems analyst, software engineer, and accessibility engineer in the federal government. He earned his degree in commercial science with an emphasis in accounting in 1974. He immediately went to work for the federal government. He served as an operating accountant and then systems accountant for six years. Mr. Brett became a computer programmer in the early 1980’s for eight years and a systems analyst and software engineer for 14 years. In the late 1990’s Mr. Brett became an accessibility engineer responsible for insure that the software and electronic documents produced by the agency were usable by people with disabilities.

Mrs. Blackman is a native Washingtonian. She earned an associate of arts degree in English from Prince George’s Community College, a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from the University of Maryland, and a master of science degree in management/development of human resources from National-Louis University. She retired from the federal government several years ago. Since 2016 she has worked at St. Mary's Piscataway as a substitute teacher and pre-kindergarten aide. Her hobbies include music, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Personal Profile:

Miss Planchet, a New Hampshire native, has been teaching since 2015 at both the elementary and junior high school levels. She studied theology/catechetics and English at Franciscan University of Steubenville as an undergraduate student and then completed her masters in curriculum and instruction at the University of Mississippi through the Mississippi Teacher Corps. She has spent seven summers working at a Catholic girls summer camp in New Hampshire as both a counselor and then the liturgical life director. She will also be the director of religious education for St. Mary's Church. Miss Planchet enjoys traveling, running, skiing, and hiking.
