A solid Foundation
Student

St. Mary's School provides students with a solid academic foundation designed to stimulate intellectual curiosity and a love of learning. We have enhanced the core curriculum with a wide variety of special classes and supplemental programs. Differentiated instruction at all grade levels assists students to achieve success.

The academic program is designed to help every student achieve his/her full academic potential and to prepare students for admission to the Catholic high school of their choice. Students receive instruction in art, computer, foreign language, library, music and physical education.

St. Mary’s uses Renaissance LearningTM products to assist students in individualized math and reading programs. During the year, students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of enrichment activities including geography, spelling, and vocabulary bees. Mid-school students participate in an annual science fair. St. Mary’s has an extensive library collection that is available to faculty and students as well as a technology lab.

St. Mary's School of Piscataway consistently performs well above the national average on standardized tests. In fact, 90% of our student body generally tests at or above their grade level in reading.

Through the Renaissance Learning Accelerated Reader Program, three classrooms have achieved Reading Renaissance Model Classroom Certification. The Library itself has achieved Reading Renaissance Model Library Certification. As part of the certification process, students in K-8 reading classes read more than 29,000 books during the school year.

Each year, members of the 8th grade class receive numerous scholarships to area Catholic schools. Since 1994, twelve St. Mary's graduates have been part of the prestigious Bishop McNamara Moreau Scholars program.
